Spray Tanning Explained
Airbrush spray tans are applied professionally using specialised equipment designed specifically for the job. We hand spray you from head to toe with a gentle misting technique. The portability of the equipment allows spray tanning services in a larger variety of places including your home or place of work.
Spray tanning products contain various ingredients. They contain a guide colour to help us apply the tan evenly (this is only an indication of how the tan will look as the tan is developing underneath). The guide colour should be washed off after a minimum of 8 -10 hours when the tan is fully developed and when you are able to shower.
The active ingredient in most sunless tanning lotions is dihydroxyacetone, also known as DHA. This ingredient is derived from sugar, 100% natural, and reacts with the outer layer of the skin to produce a golden brown tan colour, just like an apple turns brown when it is exposed to the air. In fact, it is the DHA in apples that causes this reaction. The higher the DHA, the higher the tan. The spray tan works with your natural pigments, therefore you will no longer be subjected to the 'Tango' effect!
Sunless tanners deliver a perfectly safe tan that typically lasts for 7-10 days. They don’t involve dangerous ultraviolet rays like tanning beds and are made with completely harmless common ingredients.
